Samella Williams

Founder

Minister Samella Williams’s life is a testament to the intense love she feels for others. Her joy and laughter refresh those around her, and she welcomes opportunities to influence lives and make a difference. Samella is the daughter of Jack and Earnestine Thompson from Smithville, Tx.

Samella is married to  Butch Williams and they both are the proud parents of 3 wonderful children Shalia, Courtney and Sharmine. They also have 2 grandchildren. Samella Williams is a proud business owner for 35 years at Sam’s Hair Salon in Smithville, TX. 

Samella Williams has empowered many women across Texas who arrives at her place of business worried, broken hearted and heavy  spending time with Samella they leave beautiful, refreshed and with a deeper trust in God.

Samella Williams is currently the Youth Pastor at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. Samella Williams is very active in her community serving on all site base committee'sand the School Board as a trustee for Smithville Independent School District and many other activities she performs for this community.

In 2012, She founded Angels Unaware Ministry, a not-for-profit organization that addresses the problem of food insecurity among the youth in the Smithville ISD. Angels Unaware provides qualified students with backpacks filled with healthy meals to be eaten over the weekends. That first year of operations we fed only 5 students, and today that number has grown to 155  students assisted. She also partners with the summer feeding program and the back to school supplies bash.

She is also a partner with the empty bowl project organization in Smithville, 


Willie B. Williams President

Willie  B. Williams aka (Butch) is the husband of Samella,

Butch is also the board President of Samella Williams Angels Unaware Ministry. Butch Williams is a truck driver for over 30 years, he started his own trucking company Lazy W Trucking in 1998 to 2009. He started working for Caldwell county 2 years and became disable. But his desire and compassion to continue helping in anyway he can to provide his service to this community.

Butch is also a Deacon at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, were he also plays his guitar in the choir. He also Plays for a gospel group the Original Soul Invaders of Industry Texas.


Tay campbell                Vice president

Tay Campbell is a former Math teacher and coach in the Texas Public School System where he served in various school districts across the state.  After earning his Masters of Business Administration, he has worked in various business industries but has worked in banking and finance for the last 15 years. Tay currently works as a business consultant, as well as, an auditor and compliance expert in the banking industry.  He and his family have lived in Smithville for 12 years and has volunteered locally for a number of youth related organizations and ministries in that time.  He is deeply invested in the students of Smithville through tutoring, mentoring, leading a student bible study and is also a trustee for the Smithville ISD.  He's married to his wife of 25 years, Stacy, a counselor at Smithville Junior High and they have two children.  Emma (16) is a sophomore at Smithville High School and Michael (19) is a freshman at Texas A&M.  Tay has chosen to help with Angels Unaware  because he sees the mission and work of AU as one of the most important ministries in our community.

I was born and raised in Bastrop County and graduated from Smithville High School.  I attended college at St. Edward's University in Austin, TX and graduated with BBA in Accounting.  I am a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in String Prairie, TX.  After working with companies in the corporate accounting department, I decided to leave corporate and continue my education.   After returning to the Smithville area, I got involved with Angels Unaware.  I enjoy helping young children and volunteering within my community.  I currently work for Calbri Logistics LLC.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.

Cyndee Johnson is married to her high school sweet heart of 26 years, mother of four amazing children, and has had the opportunity to educate the youth of Bastrop County for 15 years.  She strives to live a positive, healthy, and balanced life, and shares her strength with those around her to build a better community for us all.

Beth Koch graduated with a BBA degree in Marketing from Texas State University where she met her husband, Dennis. They married in 1996 and returned to Texas State to earn their MBA degrees together. Beth worked in the retirement planning industry for over 10 years.

After years of struggles, losses, and fertility treatments, God blessed her with their first daughter, Jordyn, in 2004. The following year, they moved to Smithville which is where her mother-in-law grew up. They were blessed again in 2008 with their second daughter, Camryn. God proved that He does have a sense of humor by surprising them with twin girls, Hailey and Marley, in 2009.

Beth has been a stay-at-home mom since their first daughter was born. Currently, she substitute teaches as well as volunteers at Smithville ISD. Beth enjoys being around and helping children which is one of the many reasons she supports Angels Unaware.
